Shortly after 2 a.m. on Oct. 10, an officer from the Greenwich Police Department who was on patrol on East Putnam Avenue spotted a car heading in the opposite direction without its headlights illuminated.

During the subsequent traffic stop, it was determined that the driver, Stamford resident Donyae Brown was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Further investigation found that he was driving without a valid driver’s license. He proceeded to fail multiple Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and he was arrested at the scene. Brown proceeded to fail a breathalyzer at Greenwich Police Headquarters.

Brown, 27, was charged with operation of a motor vehicle under the influence and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. He was also cited for driving without headlights.

Following his arraignment, Brown was released on $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Justice Court at a later date to answer the charges.
